Wyre

I chair the group that covers both Bromsgrove and Wyre Forest, but we get very little feedback from members within Wyre Forest district.

We have recently found a member willing to monitor applications west of the Severn. The district’s Core Strategy has been adopted. I attended many of the sessions of its examination, but there was little in the Core Strategy that we found objectionable.

The council is now consulting on:

The last planning appeal we attended was an enforcement appeal concerning English Roma travellers at Churchill. The Enforcement notice was upheld, but with time for compliance extended to the following summer. However, the travellers left before that and the land has been ploughed.

We have had few controversial planning applications. The only large one has been for housing development on the former nursery garden at Belbroughton Road, Blakedown. It is also necessary to watch the proliferation of caravan and chalet developments in the district.
