Localism: Worcestershire's response

The Coalition has introduced many new measures and policies in its brief existence, of which the revocation of the Regional Spatial Strategies has been a great relief to some districts and residents threatened by massive housing estates and given planners and councillors a chance to have a second look at what is really needed rather than be steam-rollered into accepting regionally-assessed housing numbers.

Regional Perspective

The Coalition Government heralded early its intention to end regional structures. There will still be a small organisation called 'West Midlands Councils' representing
local authorities in the West Midlands but they will do no more than promote broad messages on behalf of the region’s authorities.

Facing The Future: A Regional Group View

The review of the Regional Spatial Strategy is grappling with some big issues for the future of Worcestershire.
