Facelift for the 300 Club Draw
Although this scheme has been successful in providing the
Worcestershire Branch with essential funds ever since it was proposed by Peter
Sturgeon in 1999, the number of'shares' bought has decreased from around 300 in
the early years to less than 200 this year. Even this number was boosted by
several
large purchases by a few
generous members, including Mrs Pidsley, Mr Sanderson and Mrs Jenkins.
In the hope of increasing the
number of shares sold to nearer 300 again and to encourage more members to
participate, the cost of a share will be reduced to £5. Also, instead of one
prize of £50 and
two of only £25, there will be
two prizes per month, each of £50.
If you didn't buy any shares last year, why not consider
doing so this time at the much lower price? Note that you do not have to be a
CPRE member to participate.
