New Chairman for Worcestershire

At the AGM in June, Frank Hill was elected Chairman, taking over from Tom McDonald.

Frank spent over 40 years working for the Meteorological Office in research and forecasting. Apart from the disappointment of being wrong from time to time, perhaps the greater challenge was surviving over 2000 night shifts. He has an Honours degree in mathematics

and is a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological

Society.

His wife Edna shares his interest in the weather and they continue to be the official weather observers for Malvern, keeping a watchful eye for evidence of climate change.

All the fields behind their house were built on in 1995, so they have experienced housing development from the sharp end. Frank joined CPRE in 1998 and has been the Secretary and Planning Monitor for the Malvern Hills for several years and more recently the Membership Secretary. He will continue to fill these posts until suitable volunteers emerge.
