75th Anniversary

22 April 2010

The 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Worcestershire Branch of CPRE was celebrated with a dinner held at Bodenham Arboretum on the evening of 22nd April 2010.

This event was postponed for a few weeks from the precise date of founding in January 1935 in order to enable members to arrive in the light and in the hope of avoiding the sort of adverse weather that January can bring.

This gamble proved fortuitously successful as it was a fine evening. A total of fifty people, mostly comprising some of our longer-term members, enjoyed a walk around part of the arboretum, conducted by our President and the founder of the arboretum, David Binnian, followed by dinner. Brief talks were given by a former
chairman, Bob Dale, the vice-chairman, David Hawkins, the honorary vice-President, Lord Sandys, and the President.

We are very appreciative of the help given by the President and the caterers at the arboretum in ensuring the success of this event.
